“I recently stayed in your hotel for 4 nights at my own expense over the AZA18 conference and wanted to share with you a few things that made my experience really special. Everything – the room, breakfast etc. – was good and exactly as advertised on Booking.com, but the service I received from your staff was nothing short of exceptional. Here are a few examples:
· When I checked in, the toilet in my room had a flushing issue which I reported to reception, and within 2 minutes a smiling maintenance man was up on the 12th floor and fixed it immediately
· Late on Friday night I was very hungry and the vending machine was broken. I was too afraid to walk to the BP alone, and the night manager graciously offered to go for me or send someone
· I decided to treat myself to the buffet breakfast on Saturday morning and after paying, was mortified to discover that the fresh croissants – my favourite thing in the world – were not on the menu that day. A very kind chef lady saw my disappointment, magically prepared some and delivered them to my table. Also delivered to my table was my bank card, which I had forgotten in the ATM machine in the lobby shortly beforehand!!
· Upon departure, I was unable to get Taxify drivers to collect me from the hotel due to intimidation by the (non-)meter taxi drivers parked outside. The receptionist reacted immediately and your charismatic shuttle driver gave me a lift to Hatfield station in good time for my Gautrain.
Having travelled extensively, I can say with confidence that this is the best service I have received anywhere in South Africa. You should be very proud of your staff and the positive work environment you have clearly created at Hotel 224. Thank you all.”
“Drivers of shuttle service are very good mannered, friendly and professional, thank you for the excellent service. Thank you to maintenance who respond very quickly, reception who assist when they are phoned and the shuttle service who assist even if the transport doesn’t correspond whith the original arrangements”
